My dad passed away last year and he was such a dad that he always insisted on starting his petrol mower for me even when I wanted to help 😂 So I still don’t know how to start one (mine is electric). You’ve been a good substitute dad with this demonstration ❤

Have to disagree HTD, that is called a motor mower, a push mower has no motor. Also, a tip for the less strong among us, hold onto the handle with one hand and the pull cord with the other then, simultaneously pull the cord and push the mower, SOOO much easier than trying just with the cord.
That's not how my Ryobi works..... I just open the black lid, chuck in a battery the size of a small suitcase, squeeze the handle thingy....and push a big green button ! 😂
And when you have yanked the f........ing thing a gazillion time and it still wont start and you are in a state of godzilla you realise that maybe it's just better to get a sheep

I was a bit scared as I assumed that meant, just like in the Netherland, I wouldn’t be able to sit in the garden all summer as everyone just keeps on “doing the garden”. But was pleasantly surprised, it’s fast and then we’re done. Nice pie, beer and off you go.
I'm sad there were no tips on what to do if it refuses to start, including kicking it, swearing at it, and just putting it back in the shed for an hour with a diagnosis of "flooding". (Edit) Oh and my "Boil" is black - do you think it's cancerous?

That looks massively complicated. I have a battery powered mower, I use it then put it on charge when I return it to the shed. Never had any problems starting it or need for an instruction manual. Press start to turn it on, press off to turn it off or let go of the handle. Adjust the hight with the ↑ and ↓ buttons. The idea of messing around just to start it or it running without a deadmans switch in the handle is horrifying.
The timing of this is perfect. I was mowing yesterday and one of my daughters asked if how to dad had a video on mowing.

I have this exact petrol Ryobi mower for six years. It starts on one yank every time and cuts like a fucking monster. Electric.....fuck off you pussy.

get a spoon and drop a few drips of fuel in the carburetor. itwill start much more easily.
